From the San Benito County Office of Emergency Services.

In preparation of a third flooding event at the Lovers Lane/San Felipe Road area, San Benito County deployed resources including the Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team, Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) group, and others to notify and evacuate residents. Reserve 911 notifications were made and evacuations of the flood areas were conducted. Evacuations were completed and operations have ceased at this time.

During the evacuation operations, Officials from the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) assisted local resources and continued to offer support to the county efforts to respond to and recover from this flooding disaster. The County of San Benito would like to thank Cal OES for their tireless efforts and support through these flooding events.

The county continues to await word from the Governor on the status of the requested Gubernatorial Proclamation of a State of Emergency existing in San Benito County and to make available programs that will assist the county and the residents of the county recover.

The San Benito County Office of Emergency Services will continue to observe weather conditions throughout the course of the evening and we encourage residents to monitor the most current weather conditions via the National Weather Service website (please see link below).
