From the San Benito County Emergency Operations Center – 2301 Technology Parkway, Hollister, CA

There is currently a voluntary evacuation order for the Lover’s Lane Area of Northern San Benito County.

Pacheco Creek is already flooding and water is flowing through previous breaks in the levees.

The following roads are currently closed:

Lover’s Lane

San Felipe Road

Spring Grove Road

Union Road

According to the National Weather Service, San Francisco Bay Area in Monterey, CA, a high impact weather event is currently creating hazardous conditions in and around San Benito County.

Moderate to heavy rain is expected through this evening.

The heaviest rainfall will likely occur just north of San Benito County in the East Bay Hills, but runoff will flow south into San Benito.

The additional rainfall will likely lead to additional flooding.

Winds will be gusty at times through the day likely bringing trees downs.

The greatest impacts will be felt over the next 12 to 18 hours with improving conditions on late Tuesday.

Please use caution when driving vehicles as windy conditions and flooded roadways may make local and regional travel hazardous.
